Story
Hello everyone, thank you for visiting this fundraising page.
As many of you are aware Ian and I tragically lost our beautiful, beloved Daughter Grace on 22nd May 2022, aged 5. Grace was sadly diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma at 20 months old. During the last weeks of her life Grace was cared for exceptionally by the amazing staff at Claire House Children’s Hospice in Bebington, on the Wirral. We will forever be indebted for the dignity and compassion shown towards Grace and us both before, and following her passing; which still continues to this day.
Whilst at Claire House we were shocked to learn that they rely solely on donations and do not receive regular funding from the government, despite local children’s hospitals depending on them to provide palliative care. This is why we endeavour to raise funds for them as regularly as we are able.
Claire House Childrens Hospice helps seriously & terminally ill children live life to the full, creating wonderful memories & bringing back a sense of normality to family life. Through specialist nursing & emotional support Claire House helps families smile when life couldnt get any tougher.
On 28th October 2023 Ian & I will be taking part in an abseil down Leasowe Lighthouse in Moreton on the Wirral. The lighthouse is approx 110ft high. To add Ian is particularly scared of heights (!) however, due to witnessing the harsh treatments and procedures Grace had to endure throughout her illness, he feels the abseil will pale in comparison to this.
We would be be grateful for any donations made to this truly incredible cause.
Thank you. 🩷
