Story
Windermere, end to end. England's largest lake at nearly 11 miles (over 18km) long. My biggest challenge yet.
It is only 3.5 miles longer than Ullswater which I swam in 2021 (in my head that makes it sound better!!); it is a daunting prospect but a challenge I am looking forward to.
On 2 September I will start at Fell Foot Park at the Southern end of the Lake and after 11 miles finish (fingers crossed!) at Waterhead at the Northern end. It should take around 8.5 hours (more or less....hopefully less!).
This is nothing though in comparison to the challenges faced by the children and families that use the support of James Hopkins Trust, our Charity of the Year at Hazlewoods.
James Hopkins Trust provides care and support for Gloucestershire’s families and their young children who are life limited or life threatened.
Some parents will know their baby has a condition that will cause severe disability or shorten their life before they are born, other babies will be diagnosed soon after birth or in early childhood. Often no-one can tell you how long your child will live, only that they need constant care. James Hopkins Trust exists to help these children and their families.
Any donation you can make would be hugely appreciated by the Charity and by me. Thank you so much for your support xx
