Story
My name is Susie Marriott and on the 31st August the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond will be the start and finish point for a charity swim as a celebration of the life & legacy of the ‘mad giraffe’.
The symbolic 5 from Doddie’s jersey is represented through a 5km swim for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation as I race in the Loch at the Go Swim event. The aim, to raise awareness of motor neuron disease (MND) & as much money (hopefully starting with a 5 and a number of 0’s following) to continue the wonderful work that the great man began.
My training all started with Doddie Aid in January & continues to this final 9 weeks with intensive training of 5 pool & open water swims a week combined with strength based PTs & a couple of yoga sessions to stretch out tired muscles.
Please help support me as this is also to signify age is just a number at the start of a new decade looming for me (50 + 10) & to also help remember friends & family younger than I will be, who through MND and other diseases can’t be with me to celebrate.
This is my fundraising page and anything you can give & lots of encouragement to keep me going through the long hours of training in and out the water will be truly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
