Story

Jude Cunnane was an extraordinary young man, who lived life fully and joyfully despite the challenges he faced daily- consequence of complex epilepsy. He was full of bravery, kindness, joy and laughter, and is loved and missed by so many. Suddenly and sadly, Jude died from complications of his complex epilepsy in October 2021 at the age of 7.

By taking on this challenge, Alice, Jenny, Kit and Susie are hoping to contribute, through the generosity of their shared family and friends, to the amazing work done by Young Epilepsy supporting children like Jude.

We are honoured to be part of a wonderful team of young epilepsy riders, all of whom will be remembering Jude with every pedal stroke. We also ride in ongoing support of the Cunnane family, inspirational Laura, Andy, Layla and Cleo - (Nick and Susie’s god daughter).

3 out of the 4 of us had virtually zero road bike experience before taking on this ride, so this will be a huge undertaking. But, we will push on and pedal to the tune of Jude’s wonderful mantra, keeping us going to the hundredth mile. “ I am brave, I am strong and I never give up.”

Thank you so much for donating and supporting us.

Young Epilepsy is dedicated to standing up for children and young people with epilepsy. We’re here for them. But we need your support because epilepsy is limiting the chances of thousands of children today and may continue to do so for the rest of their lives. Together we create possible.
