Story

If you live in London, like me, there isn't a single day where you won't see a homeless person or rough sleeper. That's why in May, I am running the Hackney Half Marathon for St Mungo's - please support me in fundraising for the vital work they do!

Homelessness is at a record high. In 2023-2024, the number of households facing homelessness in England was the highest on record, with over 320,000 households seeking assistance. In London, rough sleeping hit a record high last summer - with an 18% increase on the summer before. This is predicted to get worse this winter.

More people than ever are faced with the brutality of sleeping rough, and the demand for St Mungo's services is skyrocketing. Their frontline teams are out every night, finding people sleeping rough and helping them into safety. Your donation will help them reach the people who need it most; with a nourishing meal, warm clothes or a safe place to sleep for the night.

- £25 could make it someone’s last night on the streets

- £50 could provide essentials when someone arrives at one of their hostels, such as toiletries and warm clothing.

- £100 could help someone into a permanent home of their own.

- £200 could go towards funding their employment support services, helping people to find work and stay off the streets

So please support in running my second ever half marathon for St Mungo's and respond to London's homelessness crisis! You can also come along on the day - I will be wearing the orange St Mungo's t-shirt and probably in need of a friendly face or two...
