NHP Kiltwalk 2024
Campaign by NHP (RCN 1179743)
NHP supports young people leaving care with white goods to ease the financial burden as they move into their first home. Staff, young people and partners will be walking 5, 11 or 21 miles to help fund the purchase of white goods.

Story

Leaving care and moving into your first home is a significant milestone for young people but this journey towards independent living is fraught with challenges. For care leavers, the dream of having their own place can quickly turn into a daunting reality when they realise that many everyday essentials, like new fridges and washing machines, remain out of reach due to financial constraints. NHP recognises that having these appliances isn't a luxury but a necessity for building a stable, comfortable home.

On Sunday 15 September staff, young people and partners will be taking on 5, 11 or 21 miles in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise funds towards continuing provision of a white good for each young person in a Local House Project moving into their first home.

I've signed up for the Mighty Stride - 21 miles with a time limit of 8.5 hours. Any donations, however big or small, welcome.
