Story
Many of you know how I love dance - all kinds of dance. 42nd Street at Curve last year made me wish I could be in it. I pranced around for days after. When a tap class began nearby I had to join and I love it. I missed out on opportunities to make my dancing dreams come true as a young person. That's why I am taking part in the Curve Dance Challenge, to make theatre arts accessible to young people who want to follow their own dreams.
By making a donation today, you will be supporting our dancers and free bursary places for our Curve Young Community Company groups. These popular workshops run across the school year and welcome each week 500+ young people aged 5 – 19 years with an interest and passion for performing arts.
In a recent survey conducted among participants of Curve’s youth programmes, 87% stated that these activities had a very positive impact on their wellbeing, 81% said that they helped them make friends, and 88% felt that they increased their knowledge and skills.
Every year, over 40% of Curve’s CYCC places are offered free of charge. This is really important in a city where many families face high costs and fewer opportunities to participate in the arts.
Support me today and share the joy of theatre with the next generation of artists, creators and audiences!
