Story
In September I will be joining a self-funded team of 16 women crossing the Namib desert on foot under the banner of Women on a Mission (WOAM).
I fell in love with Namibia when I first visited, and I cannot wait to return for such an important cause.
This will be the first all-female team to cross the Namib desert, scaling some of the tallest sand dunes in the world in one of the driest regions of Africa. The team will cover 125km on foot over 5 nights and 6 days in the desert, from the Kuiseb river to Walvis Bay.
Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to me and to these women and children in need.
Please message me at dudleylarissa@gmail.com if you prefer to make direct donations or have any issues on the Just Giving platform.
Women for Women International and Women on a Mission are charities I have supported for many years. Namibia will be my third attempt to join a WOAM mission. Pregnancy and pandemic thwarted my previous two attempts; so this is third time lucky!
WHY?! The expedition is in aid of Women for Women International, a non-partisan, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to financial, educational, and interpersonal support of women survivors of war and poverty.
The expedition’s objective is to raise $75,000 USD for women survivors of war in Afghanistan, Sudan and Ukraine via Women for Women International – UK, an organisation that works with some of the most marginalised women in the world helping them to transform their lives.
