Story
It’s no secret that we’re passionate about raising awareness of sepsis. It’s been 8 years since we lost Cynth to sepsis, and 5 years since Ethan was in hospital with the same illness. The impact on our family is felt every day, and we all feel strongly that anything that can be done to prevent other families from going through what we have is only a good thing.
That together with the fact that Jon and Kim are coming to terms with being in their 40s and the ensuing middle aged spread that George and Cynth warned them about, and let’s not forget George being in his 70s and enjoying a diet that’s now 70/30 food/red wine 😆. Cynth would be saying ‘get marching’, so ‘get marching’ is what we’re doing throughout July, walking/running/hobbling 10,000 steps each for each day of the month. The kids/grandkids are joining us (and our team name is in their honour) so this will be a family effort, and we’d be so grateful for your support. That can be through:
- Fundraising and donating via our Just Giving page
- Sharing our page
- Sharing information about sepsis via the Sepsis Trust
- Familiarising yourself with the signs of sepsis
Thank you so much for reading our page, wish us luck!

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.
It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
