Getting through university studies can feel like climbing a mountain, and those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds have to fight that bit harder to reach the summit.

By collecting sponsorship for the Newcastle Student Fund during my challenge, I will be raising vital funds to support current students from disadvantaged backgrounds who, through no fault of their own, may otherwise miss out on what makes studying at Newcastle so special.

I’ll also be supporting projects in the North East and beyond that raise aspirations in schoolchildren and showcase that university is for everyone.
