Story

I'm taking part in the October Dog Walking Challenge to support families facing dementia.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.

* I’m doing the dementia walk because my mother suffered with dementia which destroyed the last 5 years of her life. Until dementia touched my family I hadn’t appreciated how devastating and heartbreaking this awful condition is. In fact you lose your loved one years before they actually die. If this walk helps anyone who is touched by this disease, then it’s worth doing. Please help
