Story
I am taking part in St John's Hospice Moonlight Walk!
My sister and I have signed up to do the Moonlight Walk in support of the fantastic work of St John’s Hospice in memory of our beautiful Mum who passed away in the Hospice on 4th May 2024.
During Mum’s illness we experienced first-hand the many fantastic services they offer, not only caring for Mum, but also supporting the whole family at such a difficult time for us all. We now realise that, until Mum required their input, we didn’t appreciate the full extent of the support and services they offer.
The Hospice-at-Home team proved crucial, with visits from Clinical Nurse Specialists, an invaluable night sitting service and finally, wonderful care received in the inpatient ward at the end of Mum’s life.
More information about St John's Hospice (SJH): St Johns Hospice is a local charity that provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions throughout North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. It costs us over 5 million a year to run the hospice, with only around one third being provided by government funding. The remaining two thirds must be raised through fundraising and donations from our supporters and the local community.
