Story

On the 24th of September I will undertaking Decaironman Mexico. This is a continuous race of 10X the standard Ironman distance. The total distances are:

24 Mile Swim, 1120 Mile Cycle and a 262 mile run.

I currently the Great British record holder of the 3X and 5X Ironman distances.

I am training around my job as a consultant Head and Neck surgeon at the RUH, dealing with Cancer patients on a daily basis. Providing the highest quality care for all our patients is incredibly important to me, and we are incredibly lucky to have the new Dyson cancer centre opening soon. This will provide a state of the art facility for our patients.

Many cancer patients will undergo radiotherapy as part of their treatment. Each patient will have detailed planning models created by their oncologist to determine the safest and most effective way of administering the radiotherapy. However, this planning is very time consuming.

New AI software has the ability to assist in the radiotherapy planning for patients - freeing up the valuable time of the Oncologists to concentrate of patients facing care.

I hope to raise £15,000 towards the £75,000 cost of this new and exciting technology
