We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

On Friday 27th October 2023 my Mum suddenly passed away, aged 64.

She was a much loved Wife, Daughter, Mum, Nanna Moo, Sister, Sister in Law and dear friend to many and is dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mum was a supporter of a number of Charities throughout her life but had a particular love for the RNLI and had a particular fondness for the Cromer RNLI. So much so that her final wish was to have her ashes scattered by the Cromer lifeboat, which is arranged for later this year. The team at Cromer have been fantastic and we cannot thank them enough.

Before Mum passed away I had signed up to take part in the Norfolk Marathon, which starts and finishes at Cromer Pier, the home of the Cromer Lifeboat station. With this is mind it seemed so fitting to run this race in Mum’s memory and to raise as much money as possible for something that was very close to her heart. We have so many special memories of Mum with all our trips to Norfolk and this will give me one more lasting memory as I know she will be there with me as she was always my biggest supporter.

I appreciate things are tight for a lot of people at the moment but any donation, however big or small would mean the world to me, my family and the charity. Also if you have any special memories of Mum that you’d like to share I would love to hear them.

Below is a little more about the RNLI and the incredible work that they do:

Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.

RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.

Training starts next week (8th January) I will keep people posted with how training is going whilst I rack up those #MilesforMum

Big love,

Stewart
