Story
Close friends and family are taking on a fundraising walk in the Malvern Hills in memory of my dad who recently passed passed away to cancer. We are trying to raise funds and awareness for the Marie Curie, West Midlands Hospice. This will take place on Steve’s Birthday, Saturday 6th July 2024.
Since Steve was diagnosed with cancer, Marie Curie has been incredibly supportive. The nurses and doctors have dedicated their time and care to us throughout the past year, always going above and beyond to ensure Steve's comfort and well-being. Their compassion and expertise have been a lifeline, providing not only medical care but also emotional support and practical advice that has been invaluable to our entire family.
This charity has been a rock for Steve and the family throughout this challenging journey, providing comfort, guidance, and unwavering support when we needed it most. The dedication and kindness of the Marie Curie team has helped us navigate through difficult times with strength and hope.
Now, we want to give back and ensure that other families can receive the same incredible care and support that we have and that Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice can continue their essential work.
How you can help:
Donate: Every little bit helps. Your donation will go straight to the hospice to support their work.
Spread the Word: Share our JustGiving page with friends, family, and on social media to help us reach our goal.
From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you.
A little bit more information about Marie Curie;
Our Solihull Hospice has been caring for local people since 1965.
Its a warm and welcoming place where we give expert care to people with a terminal illness, and their loved ones, every day of the year.
Our hospice team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and many more, and is supported by over 200 volunteers who play a vital role in the running of the hospice.
We have a 24-bed in-patient unit, where relatives and friends can visit any time of the day or night, and stay with their loved ones if they wish.
Our out-patient unit offers clinics, therapies and group sessions and freshly cooked lunches made by our chefs. We also support carers and families, including children, with practical advice, counselling and bereavement support groups.
We need to raise £9,600 per day to run the hospice, so every penny counts. Thank you for helping to make sure more people with a terminal illness in Solihull get the care and support they need.
