Story

The Wakefield way is possibly the most challenging and iconic hike in the Wakefield district, usually split up into shorter segments. But on the 21st June i will be taking on the entire 75 mile circular walking route solo in just 24 hours. This massive undertaking will be done to raise funds for such a great charity the Cystic Vibrosis Trust. Starting at Huggamug@the pavilion in Pontefract Park, the route goes around the entire Wakefield Metropolitan District. Visiting East Hardwick, Wintersett Reservoir, Newmillerdam, Woolley, Bretton Hall, Bank Wood, Horbury Bridge, River Calder, Gawthorpe, Bottom Boat, Stanley Ferry, Aire & Calder Navigation Canal and back to Huggamug@thepavilion.

If you can afford to sponsor please do but any and all support would be greatly appreciated.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.

Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
