solo 75 mile hike in 24 hours · 21 June 2024
The Wakefield way is possibly the most challenging and iconic hike in the Wakefield district, usually split up into shorter segments. But on the 21st June i will be taking on the entire 75 mile circular walking route solo in just 24 hours. This massive undertaking will be done to raise funds for such a great charity the Cystic Vibrosis Trust. Starting at Huggamug@the pavilion in Pontefract Park, the route goes around the entire Wakefield Metropolitan District. Visiting East Hardwick, Wintersett Reservoir, Newmillerdam, Woolley, Bretton Hall, Bank Wood, Horbury Bridge, River Calder, Gawthorpe, Bottom Boat, Stanley Ferry, Aire & Calder Navigation Canal and back to Huggamug@thepavilion.
