Steve's "big run" - 40 miles for 50 years, Running the Coventry Way circular route. · 13 April 2025

Story

I'm undertaking a personal challenge to run the Coventry Way, https://www.acoventryway.org.uk/a demanding 40-mile circular route that winds its way around Coventry, taking me across a mix of footpaths and roads. This is no ordinary run.

It’s a journey through a diverse landscape that will push me physically and mentally, testing my endurance, perseverance, and willpower.

The route, runs through picturesque Warwickshire and is notoriously challenging. The varied terrain—from steep inclines to uneven paths—requires constant focus and adaptation.

The physical challenge is intense, but it's the mental battle that will be toughest. It’s easy to lose sight of the goal when the body is tired, and the finish line feels far away.

Yet, it’s in these moments of doubt that I’ll need to dig deeper.

This challenge isn’t just about covering distance. It’s about pushing through discomfort and embracing the struggle.

The 40 miles won’t be completed in a sprint. It’ll be a slow, relentless grind, one that demands patience, strategy, and resilience. And some friends to help me along the way.

As I take on this challenge, I’ll need to remember why I started—because growth happens when we push beyond what we think is possible.

This is about more than running a set distance; it’s about proving to myself that, with determination and a clear mind, I can overcome the toughest obstacles, one step at a time.

Please donate if you can, I am raising funds for Coventry and Warwickshire MIND.

Many thanks
