Story
I'm running to support the homelessness charity that James works for. They provide help for people who are sleeping rough, sofa surfing, at risk of losing their home, and increasingly, people who are simply struggling to make ends meet.
They have seen a big rise in people needing their help. Whilst the accommodation services they run receive the funding, the Prebend Support Hub which is open to anyone who needs help with housing relies on fundraising efforts. It costs more than £270,000 every single year to keep it running and they receive no government or local authority funding.
Some of the situations James tells me about are heartbreaking - there are people accessing SMART services who only a matter of months ago had a job and a home, but with rising bills and rising costs of pretty much everything on the planet, some people have lost their homes.
Not everyone is owed support from the council when losing their home, there are people through no fault of their own facing homelessness every day; can you imagine?
If you can afford to sponsor me, please do, James works for a small charity and the money will be spent wisely.
Thank you :)
