Story

Ever since having moved to Boca Raton in 2016 we would frequently pass the Y and were fascinated by the number of events supported on a daily basis.

Not until my wife and I had the privilege of having our son, Chase Grisak, did we learn more intimately about the Y and what it does for those within our community…

From lifesaving swim lessons to summer day camp, after school sports, daycare to senior care; the Y is and always has been a cornerstone of support to the families of South Palm Beach County.

The true sense of community that the Y delivers is priceless, more so now than ever it is essential to those in need and within our area’s underserved families.

As a parent with a child in the YMCA daycare, I see it happen every day; the reaction and gleaming smile that beams across my son’s face every morning we tell him that he has to get ready for school.

The daily events from musicians volunteering to come in with instruments to fire departments volunteering and allowing the children to tour the trucks, along with the social exposure with his friends.

Nothing makes him happier.

But why should we reserve that joy to just ourselves?

All children within our community deserve to experience the same joys and grow with our children.

A financial barrier should not prevent them from doing what they do best: being a child! Laughing, learning, and playing!

I'm proud to support the Y's charitable mission; so, I am asking you to support those in our community who are in need.

It doesn’t have to be $500 to support a scholarship of a one-year membership to the Y for a child in providing a place for belonging, friendship and achievement.

It doesn’t have to be $250 to provide a month of after school care filled with learning opportunities and positive role models for a deserving child.

It doesn’t have to be $150 for a special needs child to learn lifesaving swim lessons.

It doesn’t have to be $50 to help one child participate in Fit Kids Youth Fitness for one month.

It doesn’t even have to be one larger donation; it can be SPLIT up in several smaller donations on a monthly basis!

It can be anything you want it to be, but my ask is that you make it about your family and your “Y”.

For me personally? What is my "Y"?

It is all about giving back and supporting children in need.

I give knowing that every dollar stays local and 100% goes to a cause that supports those around me that cannot ask for help themselves.

Please join me in supporting the good works of the Y, and please spread the word!

Looking forward to supporting those around us, together.
