Story
Elysium would like to invite you all to one final heavy session before the festive season, because it’s our sixth birthday! From 1pm until 4pm on Saturday 16th December come along and test your bench press and deadlift, and the limits of fashion, in a festive/birthday push-pull party.
Wear your most Festive outfit, and be prepared to push serious weight on the bench and on the platform. Prizes will be given for personal bests or equal PBs. There will also be prizes for PBs, best overall lifter and best worst outfit.
For every lift we’re asking for a £2 donation to Cystic Fibrosis Trust. You can have as many lifts as you like throughout the day. We are lifting for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust because it is a cause very close to our hearts. They’re the only nationwide charity helping people affected by this disease to live without limits. Your donations will help advocate on behalf of those with CF, fund vital treatments and improve care. Even if you can’t be there on Saturday, any donations will be gratefully accepted.
There will be an athlete brief at 12:30pm, and lifting will commence at 1pm. Final lift of the day will be 4pm. Don’t worry if you can’t make 12:30, any late lifters will be individually briefed.
So come along, celebrate Elysium turning six, pull a cracker and a PB off the floor, and push your bench PB and the limits of fashion, and let’s raise some money and some plates for charity before we all head away for the festive season! Bring your best festive cheer and bring a friend!
If you have any questions or comments about this upcoming event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
