Story
Strictly Air Ambulance will be returning to the Brentwood Centre, Essex, on Saturday 9th March 2024, for another electrifying evening of dance and entertainment! As one Essex & Herts Air Ambulance's longest-running fundraising events, this star-studded show will once again be masterfully presented by our celebrity ambassador, Lisa Snowdon and ITV presenter David Whiteley.
Unlike NHS emergency services, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is a charity. Each of our missions costs in the region of £2,200. Without access to National Lottery funding, and with only limited support from the Government, we rely on the generosity and goodwill of supporters such as yourself to remain operational and keep saving lives.
Steve is a former volunteer blood biker, having helped deliver blood products to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance to help treat patients. At work he is a Project Manager for Pro Carrier a logistics company based in Basildon, and at home is a husband and father. Steve’s family have been directly influenced by the Air Ambulance, in his own words ‘Gaynor and the EHAAT team, saved my boys life. I owe them everything. No words can describe how big a challenge this will be for me but if I can raise funds whilst dad dancing with 2 left feet and the rhythm of an arthritic rhino then bring it on.
Dancing with Steve, Katie completed her Masters in Experimental Pharmacology and Therapeutics in September 2023 and is currently utilising her knowledge of the dance industry working as a secretary at the British DanceSport Association.
Dancing in the open circuit since the age of 12, at the top of her competitive career, she has had success such as being World Amateur 10 Dance Finalist, English Closed Ballroom and Latin U21 Champion, British Open U21 Ballroom quarterfinalist and has even had the privilege of dancing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Katie is looking forward to being part of the competition and says ‘I thought it would be exciting teaching someone how to dance whilst supporting an amazing cause, the Air Ambulance’.
