Story
Hi there
For reasons I cannot explain I have been signed up to fundraise for Age UK Tunbridge Wells via the London to Brighton bike ride!
Now, whilst I don't live in Tunbridge Wells (although it is a possibility in the future), I do hope to be old one day and completing the L2B is on my bucket list.
To make things interesting and as per my usual MO, I am celebrating a good friends 50th birthday the night before the L2B which will probably result in a TC (tactical chunder) at Crawley.
I am very much hoping that you will consider sponsoring me to complete the L2B. If you want to know the serious stuff behind the fundraising, the spiel from Age UK TW is as follows:
"Age UK Tunbridge Wells firmly believes that ageing is a natural part of life, and the later years of our lives should continue to be fulfilling, productive and enjoyable.
- 17% increase in people aged 65 years and over in the last 10 years (Kent).
- 19% of the population in Tunbridge Wells are aged 65+.
- In April 2021 our historical core grant funding from Kent County Council (KCC) ceased.
As an independent charity that is governed and managed by people from the local community, the charity replies on our support to keep serving our community".
Thank you for reading.
