Our story

In March 2009 we were given then scary news that our 2 year old son Dan had a congenital heart defect called a Partial AVSD and was in heart failure. The good news was the operation to repair this defect had a 98% success rate and would be performed within 6 months. 15 years on and to look at him you would never know. He has thrived since his repair. Amanda and I will be forever grateful to the surgeon Mr Watterson who performed the repair and everyone at Leeds LGI for their support in what was a difficult time. The Children's Heart Surgery fund helps support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit by providing parent accommodation (which we used) and vital ward recourses.
