Steve's / Jacky’s fundraiser for Daisy's Dream

Release the blag presents Jacky’s Song · 25 May 2024
Jacky had lost her long standing partner and husband Martin to skin cancer in 2008 leaving the her a widow with two young boys at the age of 35. This didn’t stop her working full time , being a mum and raising thousands of pounds for the Daisys Dream a local charity that provide much needed support to children who have lost a parent & also helped to support her after losing Martin . Jacky has done multiple charity parachute jumps and a wing walk , charity football matches and parties to raise money for local charities that helped her & her family. So you can imagine when Jacky was diagnosed with Breast cancer in Autumn 2020 it was absolutely devastating.
While the country and hospitals were battling with Covid , Jacky was waiting for a cancerous tumor to be removed ( they recommend this is done within 28 days but Jacky had to wait until the end of January 2021 , followed by radiotherapy treatment & long term medication. Unfortunately this wasn’t the end of the journey. In July 2022 she found another lump which resulted in her having to have a mastectomy & a years wait for a reconstruction. In June 2023 she went to see her consultant to discuss the reconstruction process as it was a big operation lasting 10 hours , during this consultation they discovered her cancer had returned , so she had it removed & phase 1 of her reconstruction process , followed by a hip replacement two months later (that’s another story !) & now is having chemotherapy & counting down the days until it finishes in April ! so we decided to throw a party in her honour as she has been a complete warrior , we will be raising money for Thames Valley Hospice who looked after Martin & Jacky’s best friend Jo in their final days against their own battle with cancer & Daisys Dream who help so many local families. Release Radio , Berkshire Blag , Chillifunk Records & The Old Court are all helping to make this party happen .
