Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!
We are super-excited to take part in the Dundee Kiltwalk this year. We'll be doing the 'Mighty Stride' event which will mean a gruelling 21.5 miles (34.5km) from St Andrews to Dundee, and every step will be for a charity we are so proud to support - Scottish Mountain Rescue.
We would be very grateful if you would be able to donate a small amount towards our target. Every penny goes towards potentially saving lives out on the hills and mountains of Scotland. Even if you are unable to donate, we appreciate you reading the following couple of paragraphs to be aware of the great work these volunteers are on call to do on a daily basis, and the nature of the beast means the call is most likely to come when the weather is at its worst and the terrain at its most challenging.
Thank you from both of us to everyone at Scottish Mountain Rescue, and to every single person visiting this page!
For all of us who enjoy the great outdoors of Scotland, whether just for fun or for making YouTube videos, it is reassuring to know that if things were to go wrong, this incredible team of 850 dedicated volunteers have our backs. Of course we hope we'll never need them, but we genuinely can't think of a better cause to support. They are true heroes. And as their purpose states, they are 'Volunteering to Save Lives. Any Hour, Any Day, Any Weather.'
3 in 5 of their rescues are funded by donations. And 1 in 5 by the volunteers themselves. That's the one that really hits home for us - these volunteers will put all their skills to the test in the harshest conditions to rescue a complete stranger, and so often they are using their own equipment and even their own petrol costs to do it. Incredible!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again for your support! And if you are nearby on Sunday 11th August, we'll give you a wave as we limp past. And if we reach our target by the day of the event, who knows, we might even be in tartan :)
All the best,
Steve and Alicja x
