Story

Sadly my cousin Mark passed away 2 years ago after battling a short illness with motor neurone disease (MND), he was only 36 years young. His brother, Lee, passed away about 10 years earlier also from MND, he was only 40. Their Dad, my Uncle Ken, also suffered from this cruel disease 36 years ago & also died at the age of 40 !

As you can see our family has been severely effected by MND. Ever since Mark left us I wanted to do something in his memory & to also remember Lee & Uncle Ken. I will therefore be running in the London Marathon for the MNDA Team & want to raise as much money as possible, so I can help others who are effected by MND & hopefully find a cure for this horrible disease.

Mark was not only my cousin but also worked for me at our family business, Capelles Building Stores, where we became closer than before. We often socialised together, just like we did when we were kids, so he has a big place in my heart ♥

MND affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord and they help tell your muscles what to do. It causes weakness that gets worse over time. There's no cure for MND, but there are treatments to help reduce the impact it has on a person's daily life. Some people live with the condition for many years. MND can significantly shorten life expectancy and, unfortunately, eventually leads to death.

Any donation big or small would mean the world to me.

Thank you so much for your supporting me & the MND Association !
