Story
Hi Everyone,
I'm running the Blackpool Marathon on 27th April in memory of Sue Crahan - my AMAZING Mum!
She sadly left this earth in April 2024 after succumbing to another Cancer diagnosis. However, alongside the cancers she faced she also lived with and fought Myasthenia Gravis.
It's a horrible disease and few people even know it exists. We certainly didn't until she got a diagnosis in 2006 .
My Mum was the ultimate fighter. She fought poor health all her adult life, having to be resuscitated at least twice during that period. By 70 her frail body had given up and Myasthenia was a large contributing factor in that harsh journey.
If my Mum was able to fight like that every day - then I'm sure I can get my bony carcass around 26 miles in memory of her!
I've done many runs, walks, triathlons and mountain climbs over the years, but none really for charity - more for my own 'growth'. However, this is for a cause that is extremely close to my heart, so please give whatever you can.
Every penny you donate will support people living with this rare condition.
Thank you.
Steve
