These challenges will be tough for me, through dark early mornings and late night training sessions, to the events themselves. I will struggle for sure.
But knowing I am helping such a wonderful school will keep me going - together with your support and donations.
Ethan joined The Unicorn School when he was 6 years old and it changed his life, literally, so much.
Before he joined, in mainstream school, Ethan couldn’t read and his writing was barely legible.
He lacked confidence and self esteem, and would always ‘be on the outside’ of his peers.
Even at that early age, (some) people were already writing him off, saying he would not achieve anything, not get any GCSE’s, never ride a bike, etc.
He has, and continues, to prove them all wrong. Daily.
Largely (or arguably all) down to the environment created for him at The Unicorn School.
They help him be successful.
Ethan is now in his final year at The Unicorn School, sitting his GCSE’s. He is predicted to (hopefully) achieve a Pass in English, Maths, Art and possibly even Science, whilst also gaining a BTEC in Sport and a Gold in ASDAN.
Literally fantastic, makes me emotional just writing about it.
Ethan's passion is football and he plays for a local team, where he has developed friendships and we've watched his confidence grow.
He is more outgoing, confident and engaging (even with new people he meets, sometimes), than ever before.
All down to The Unicorn School.
So, Ethan and I are just trying to do something to help the school - to enable them to help more young people like Ethan, who simply need the support, the environment in which to thrive, that The Unicorn School offers.
All the above events are paid for by me directly, so all of your donation goes to The Unicorn School.
