Story
The London Marathon isn't just a race for me; it's a profound journey mirroring the resilience required to overcome childhood abuse. My desire to run for Barnardo's is deeply rooted in my own experiences. As a child who faced the darkness of abuse, I understand the scars left behind and the strength it takes to heal. Barnardo's commitment to helping vulnerable children echoes the support I once needed, making this cause incredibly close to my heart.
I am inspired by Barnardo's dedication to transforming the lives of the UK's most vulnerable children—many of whom have suffered abuse and neglect. Their work offers a beacon of hope, much like the guidance I craved during my darkest days. Running this marathon is my tribute to the silent whispers of children still grappling with their realities. It's my way of telling them that they're not alone and that there's a community ready to uplift them.
By choosing to support Barnardo's, I'm turning my past into a force for good. Every mile I conquer will be a testament to survival and the promise of a better tomorrow for these children. I run to fund the services that shield, heal, and empower. I run to show that from pain can emerge purpose. And I run to prove that with support, the journey from victim to victor is possible. Barnardo's has been that crucial support for many, and I am honored to potentially be a part of that legacy, championing the cause that once would have championed me.
In 2022 , Over 22k children in the UK were subject to abuse and neglect
8,389 children with concerns of neglect
6,441 children with concerns of physical abuse

I started running September 2022 and since then have completed a number of races including The Yorkshire Marathon this year. I am honoured to be running the London Marathon, even more so supporting such a cause close to my heart.
Any support you can give, will be much appreciated.
