Story
Some may remember that in 2019 I shaved my hair to raise money for Macmillian as my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and under went chemotherapy. After 4 great years in remission I am wanting to raise money for Sue Ryder as regrettably my wife was diagnosed late November 2023 with advanced stage 4 secondary cancer. She is starting chemo again to help manage and slow this disease but the reality is that it is incurable. Sue Ryder’s palliative team have already been amazing and therefore to stand along side Clare I am going to again do a very small thing and shave my hair off as she will regrettably be losing hers as a result of the treatment. This is relatively a small thing for me to do but hopefully will raise much needed money to support the amazing work that the Sue Ryder team do in the community. So if you can spare a little cash to sponsor me or my nephew (who in solidarity is doing a wonderful thing and doing the same) then it will be greatly appreciated.
For clarity we are trying to keep positive and maximise our time as a family, if nothing else we encourage you to do the same with the people you love. Here is some info about Sue Ryder:
Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with Sue Ryder's support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They are there when it matters.
