7 Ultra marathons in 7 days! Yes you read that correctly. 250miles in a week consisting of six 30mile runs with The Wall (70mile race) on the final day. This is an incredible challenge that Stephen, with the support of Newburn Running Club, is taking on to raise vital funds for the MSA Trust and in memory of Dave Jardin.

Recently, a good friend of Stephen and a fellow club runner, was diagnosed with MSA. This is a life limiting degenerative brain condition that has no cure. Dave is losing his ability to walk unaided, and his body will continue to digress daily. The MSA Trust (RCN 1137652) is the only UK Charity dedicated to providing specialist care to support those affected and they need help to raise vital funds to pay for MSA nurses, support groups and research into both cause and cure. Last year, Dave raised over £1500 for the charity when he took on the Great North 5km. He was supported by club members and made a moment to remember crossing the line.

Dave has been part of the Northeast running community for many years, he has ran for several local clubs and massed a multitude of achievements. He has ran races all over the world and continued to run right up until his diagnosis. Some of his amazing personal achievements can be found on his Power of 10 but what sets Dave aside is his unwavering compassion and support for others. There are many stories of Dave finishing races and getting back out on the field in his jeans to help others get to the finish line, he would never leave anyone behind. He is an inspiration!

Sadly, last Thursday, Dave passed away unexpectedly. The support from the running community has been incredible and we send our deepest condolences to Dave's Family. Stephen started this challenge to run for the MSA Trust in support of Dave and now he has inspired others to join him in running in memory of Dave.
