Story

Anyone who knows Stephen would know that Stephen has always had a love for motor bikes.

Sadly on the 29th of September 2018, Stephen was involved in a motor bike accident. His family received the news that no parent ever wants to receive.

Stephen suffered a traumatic cardiac arrest at the scene and resuscitation was given by bystanders. Stephen was taken to Royal Victoria Infirmary where Stephen was sadly fighting for his life. His family where then faced with the heart breaking decision to turn his life support machine off, as a family they decided against this as they knew Stephen was and always had been a fighter.

Stephen proved his family right and was independent from his ventilator by the 21st October 2018. Stephen suffered multiple injuries including a traumatic brain injury and a below the knee amputation with multiple other injuries.

5 Years on with Stephens fighting spirit, the love and support of his family, Stephen has made tremendous strides in his recovery.

On the 8th of September 2024 Stephen, Louise, Chantelle, Abby and his sister Nicola will be taking part in the Great North Run to raise awareness for people who have also suffered brain injuries. They will be doing this for the charity Headway and will be grateful for any donations which will help Headway provide support to others in the future.
