Story
My brother-in-law Robert Bown was tragically killed in December. The past two months have been the hardest of my life and the only small comfort has been seeing how loved Robert was; not just in his local community for who he did so much, but by anyone whose path crossed with Rob's. Someone said to me recently that Rob was "everyone's best mate" and they hit the nail on the head.
I was recently "encouraged" to take up a charity spot for the London Marathon. Having never run a marathon before, being in terrible shape and with only 9 weeks notice, I thought absolutely not. But then I thought of Rob and how after laughing at me for days for even contemplating the idea, he would have offered me words of encouragement and have been the first to put his hand in his pocket.
I am raising funds for RoadPeace who are a charity who fight for justice for those killed on the road and help bereaved loved ones. They have been a big support to our family in our early stages of grief. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
This one is for you Rob. I know you will be with me on the day.
