We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Our son, and the boy’s brother Joshua, has been diagnosed at just 18, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. This news has been devastating to us all, but Josh has shown enormous resilience throughout his journey so far. He is known for his strength, fight, determination and competitiveness on the football pitch; all attributes that we know he will use in his battle against Leukaemia.

Josh is undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment at The University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The care we have received from the NHS so far has been amazing and Teenage Cancer Trust has been nothing short of fantastic. We are seeing first hand the impact this wonderful charity has on age appropriate cancer care. It makes a massive difference not only to the patient but the family too. We feel they are holding our hands through every step of Josh’s journey and we want to give something back.

To show our unwavering support and love to Josh, we as a family are committed to raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust through a series of events in 2025. Dad will be doing a head shave, Jack will be running the Swansea Half Marathon, and Max will be tackling the Swansea 10km. Finally all three will also embark on a 20 mile hike from Josh’s football club in Briton Ferry , to his local pub, The Southgate and we hope others will join us to make this a special event. These challenges are not just deeply personal; they represent our collective effort to give back to an organisation that has provided us and other families with such vital support during this difficult time.

We have been shown tremendous love and support from our family and friends and we deeply appreciate it. Our target is to raise £5000 for this worthy cause. Every contribution counts, and will bring us one step closer to making a difference in the lives of young people facing cancer. Together, let’s stand strong for those who need it most and for our amazing Joshua.

Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it.
