Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Hi I'm Steve.

Fresh from a 1300 mile trip in march around the Scottish North Coast 500 completing challenges with 30 other cars and raising over £8500 for charity, my next challenge will be attempting to take my £1 car “The Toybaru” from Sheffield to Lake Como via Brussels, Baden-Baden, The Black Forest, Switzerland and the Nurburgring.

B Braun will be sponsoring and fueling the little Toyota, for this latest journey on the way to Lake Como.

The challenge for Rustbox Rallies was to buy a car for under £750, decorate it in the most creative way possible, then drive the coastal roads and loch ness on the North Coast 500 route over 4 days. As an added challenge I campervan converted my car and wild camping along the way.s

I bought the car for £1 to save it from the scrapheap and have modified it to have every genuine Subaru part possible and a unique wrap. The wrap is a parody of the ProDrive rally team, “Non-ProDrive”.

As a recipient of heart surgery, the BHF is a charity close to me and I’m aiming to raise £1000 and have got over £500 so far. Previously I have raised over £500 cycling the BHF London to Brighton, 2000 local miles in 90 days during lockdown, and the Isle of Man CC.

Please help any way you can and every penny counts.

For £100 BHF can fund a pHD student for the day, £250 can supply a month of microscopic tracer molecules for patients which show doctors what is occurring in heart and blood vessel cells, and £500 can buy fresh blood vessel cells for research.
