Story

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in February and I had my prostate removed at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle on May 8th 2024. My care from the staff there has been exemplary and I was fortunate to be allowed home on May 9th.

I have been steadily building back my health and fitness and want to try to do something good to assist in the detection and treatment of this disease. I was completely unaware anything was wrong and it was only through monitoring my PS A that the condition was diagnosed.

If you are male and over 50 you should get a PSA test as routine but please ask for a test if not! It is a simple blood test carried out at the GP surgery.

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October challenge for PCR to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research via the Just Giving platform! Whether you donate £5 or £500, you will be helping to make a change for men who have been impacted by prostate cancer.

Thank you for your support! 💙🧡
