Darling relatives and chums,

please please please give a HUGE or small donation, depending on our circumstances. This is a very good cause for which I've been a fairly useless volunteer for 7 or 8 years. So many people who have lived here have gone on to start proper lives in this country. The shelter welcomes people from all over the world: Hackney, Ethiopia, Scotland, Palestine, Syria, Reigate, Eritrea... And it is a lovely place, where volunteers come and cook and everyone sits and chats round a great big table.

Because I am a descendant of refugees I feel very strongly about this project. It fulfils a need and is WELL WORTH FUNDING!!!

Hackney Night Shelter has two independent homeless shelter in Hackney, with the larger in the heart of Victoria Park Village, supporting the community by providing emergency accommodation to those experiencing homelessness. The HNS Sleep Out is back, after the fabulous success of their first Sleep Out in 2024. We are coming together to raise funds and connect with their neighbours, whilst supporting our local shelter (that has been going for 28 years) to continue staying open for years to come!

Community fundraising events are essential to keep Hackney Night Shelter's doors open 365 nights of the year. They we wouldn’t be able to continue their vital work without support through people power and local grants throughout the year.
