Story
Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation.
We provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
We work in over 70 countries and go to the places where others cannot or choose not to go.
While cycling across Africa, I was caught up in the civil war in Sudan for 10 days. I saw the effect war has first hand on the millions of Sudanese families still trapped in Khatoum. It was desperate and incredibly scary and I find it difficult to justly describe something that is so foreign to most of us.
To have no access to health care, no help coming, no food, no water, no internet, no power. To lose contact with all your family and friends as they try and flee the danger. To lose all hope. The civil was has raged since April 15 and conditions are only getting more desperate.
Doctors without Borders (MSF) are in Sudan ready to help those that have fled the war and the thousands of displaced families seeking refuge.
I was loved and cared for by so many beautiful Sudanese families as I cycled through their country. Everyday, I was invited into their homes for tea, coffee, dates and a meal. Men, women, aunties, grandmothers and children welcomed me to their country with open arms.
A country full of beautiful landscapes and kindness. Now these families need our help. MSF (Doctors Without Borders) are in Sudan ready to help. As soon as they can, they will be in Khatoum, tending to the horrific damage caused by war. They are already working around the clock in their remote hospitals, helping displaced victims of war and families who have left their lives behind. MSF are also established in neighbouring countries, like Chad, assisting Sudanese families who have made it across the border.
With your help, I'd like to support MSF and show as much kindness as the people of Sudan have showed me.
All donations, any amount are welcome.
Thank you friends xx
