Story
Steeton AFC Juniors are proud to be assocated with the Airedale Hospital and Community Charity. As the Junior football team closest to the hospital we have the Charity logo on one of our kits and have always wanted to have an event where we raise vital funds to support the charities work.
This year the team will be raising funds for the Charities Emergency Department appeal by walking together with a the coaches and parents. This walk will be a circular walk starting at our home ground, calling in at the hospital and then walking the approximately 17 mile route through Keighley, over to Ilkley and then back to the start point via Addingham and Silsden. our planned route is visible by clicking on this link: https://goo.gl/maps/eTZup5J7QqnRpvP18
In 2014 Airedale's brand new Emergency Department opened. Every year since then an average of 55,000 patients have walked through those doors to seek emergency care. That means in just 8 years nearly half a million people have received help from the Airedale Emergency Department when they need it most.
Like everything well used, some of the most important areas in the Emergency Department are starting to look a bit tired and this is where they need us.
With our help they are raising funds to give the Emergency Department some TLC, to make a real difference, to provide those added extras that make a real difference to us as patients and our local community.
