Story

There are an estimated 64,000 people living with dementia in Ireland, and that figure is expected to more than double by 2045

Growing scientific evidence indicates that keeping healthy can reduce your risk of developing dementia. The consumption of Omega-3 can improve brain health and even reduce the risk of heart attacks. Fish such as salmon are rich in Omega-3.

As a company Star Seafoods is uniquely positioned to contribute to the cause. So In the month of June for every kilo of salmon sold on our website we will donate €10 to the cause making it a win win for everyone.

Alternatively if you would like to donate directly to the Alzheimer's society of Ireland donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.

Daniel McCarthy, Managing Director of Star Seafoods said:

“As a company that values freshness, quality, and healthy eating, we are proud to support The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. We believe that by working together, we can both raise awareness of an issue that doesn’t get talked about enough as well as highlighting a healthy diet that can help reduce the risk of the disease, all while fundraising for a great organisation"

Amy Vaughan-Hameed, Corporate Fundraising Manager for the ASI said:

“We’re really looking forward to this clever campaign by Star Seafoods this June. They’ll not only raise crucial funds for The ASI, but they’ll raise awareness of the condition among their customers. We’re hugely grateful to be the beneficiaries of this initiative and thank Star Seafood for their support.”
