Story

Stacy Stricklen (40) passed away peacefully in her sleep September 25, 2023. She was preceeded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clayton Cargile, and paternal grandparents, Mary and Norman Stricklen. She is survived by her loving parents, David and Lynn Stricklen, her sisters, Karen Viotti (Pete) & Michelle McLeod (Chris), nieces Ella and Giuliana, her nephew Nicholas, grandmother Pauline Cargile, and many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. From the day she was born, Stacy defied all the odds and lived life to the fullest for over 40 years. Considered one of LeBonheur’s miracle babies of the 80s, Stacy was well known and well loved by every single doctor, nurse and medical professional that crossed her path, and the feeling was mutual.Stacy was the ultimate sports fan, and loved her Memphis Tigers. Most nights and/or weekends, if she wasn’t at a game, you could find her glued to a TV watching every college football or basketball game while texting with family, checking bets and spreads, and having a great time. Aside from teaching us all a thing or two about sports and how to win at a blackjack table, the greatest lesson she gave us was how to live and how to love. Despite her hardships, she rarely complained. Her smile would light up any room. Stacy was fiercely protective of her people, always everyone’s biggest fan, and gave the best hugs that often showed just how strong she really was. She taught us all how to be brave, how to bear your cross with dignity and grace, and how to live like Jesus did. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Stacy’s memory.

Le Bonheur depends on the generous support of people like you. Their founders promised that the doors to Le Bonheur would always be open to children in need. More than 60 years later, they still honor that promise. Its people like you that help them provide the medical care and support kids need to get well.
