Story
Hello Friends & Family,
Over the last nine years, my work has been for an amazing non-profit organization, the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. NWABA's mission impact is more significant than I could have imagined, and we have countless stories of how our programs and services have changed the lives of our athletes.
My career path changed when I volunteered for a summer camp at 19. Bright-eyed and unbeknownst to me, I would choose a way that led me to NWABA. That summer, I worked with a deaf-blind athlete as he climbed a rock wall. He trusted our belay team completely as he navigated each hold through tactile ASL. I was transformed. Providing access to sports and physical activity to people often overlooked as 'athletes' catapulted my career to where it is today. As an athlete, to empower other athletes is a dream come true.
At NWABA, we meet every athlete where they are in age, stage, and ability level. On September 14th, NWABA will hold its first annual NWABA Give Day! Please help me achieve my goal of $1,000 in supporting them, ensuring we continue to support individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
Thank you for supporting this organization that means so much to me.
