Story
I am abseiling from the top of Liverpool Cathedral to help raise funds for Owen McVeigh Foundation who are a charity set up to support children who have been diagnosed with Cancer.
On 17th March 2024 I took my Son, Oliver, who was only 6 at the time into hospital after he had become poorly. 4 days later after lots of tests and investigations we were given the life changing and devastating news that Oliver had T-Cell Acute Lymphobastic Leukemia. This changed everything for my family from that day forwards and we are currently on a 25 month treatment journey with Oliver.
During his treatment Oliver has had to encounter countless numbers of scary things, more needles than anybody should ever have to have let alone a child, terrible chemo drugs that have caused awful side effects including losing all his hair and lots and lots of theatre trips to have lumber punctures. I will forever be in awe of the journey Oliver has had to endure and he always remains full of energy and positivity. He is a true inspiration and although I will be terrified as I stand at the top of the cathedral stepping over the edge it will still be nothing in comparison to what my little boy has had to go through and is still going through.
I am doing this for all the children going through the terrifying journey of a cancer diagnosis and to support the Owen McVeigh Foundation so they can continue to make this terrible journey a little bit more manageable for the families and children involved.
The charity have worked tirelessly to support the families of children going through this terrible journey and provide them with amazing days out and activities to look forward to. Please help me in supporting a great cause.
We are looking for thrill- seeking fundraisers to take on a sponsored abseil on behalf of The Owen Mcveigh Foundation whilst raising invaluable funds for our charity !
without the support of our charitable donations from our fantastic supporters, we could not do what we do for children suffering from cancer in the Merseyside area.
Your help and fundraising is vital in helping us continue our work. thank you .
