A Hat Trick of Might Hikes and a 24 Hour Welsh 3000s Attempt

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Every single one of you knows at least one person living with or who lived with cancer. Half of us will be that person. Pretty scary stats really.

MacMillan's work is a vital support line for those living with cancer and their loved ones too.

This summer, I'm punishing my feet and my lungs in aid of this exceptional cause, with a hat trick of Macmillan Mighty Hikes, followed by one of the toughest mountain challenges in the UK.

May: Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike - Marathon Distance

June: Lake District Mighty Hike - Marathon Distance

July: Peak District Mighty Hike - Marathon Distance

The Biggie: The Welsh 3000s.

Why the Welsh 3000s?

*13,100+ feet of elevation gain and 30 miles in 24 hours or less*

Sometime between these hikes, I will attempt to summit all 15 mountains in Wales over 3,000ft in a single 24-hour period.

I have climbed these peaks individually before, but stringing them together is a different beast entirely. It involves 30 miles of hiking, over 13,000 feet of elevation gain and some precarious scrambling over ridge lines, some of which will be in the dark and while exhausted.

Please donate what you can. Your money ensures that the next family facing this diagnosis doesn’t have to face it alone.

And if you're not donating I expect you to be hiking some of it with me, ok? Deal?
