Story
Throughout the month of October and in support of Baby Loss Awareness week, I will be taking part in Miles in Memory 2023 to raise vital funds in aid of Aching Arms.
On the 20th May 2023 , My daughter Peggy was born sleeping at 23 weeks. We found out that she had a severe cardiac condition that meant that we would never have been able to bring her home.
When we left the hospital, instead of bringing our baby girl home in my arms I carried a memory box and a teddy bear. The expression Aching Arms has never resonated with me so much as it did in that moment. We were given our own Aching Arms bear which was donated by another family that has been through baby loss. This bear bought great comfort to me when I just needed something to hold, to cuddle and to cry into.
I have found walking and being in the fresh air a great comfort to me since Peggy was born. So, I am setting myself the challenge of walking 150 miles this October to raise awareness of baby loss awareness month, and hopefully raise some money for Aching Arms! I would love to be able to provide bears to other families going through baby loss and offer them the same comfort that our bear bought to me.
Let’s walk 150 Miles in Memory of my little girl Peggy 💕
All donations are gratefully received and will have a big impact in offering comfort and support to bereaved families.
If you are a UK tax payer, please remember to Gift Aid your donation, which boosts it by 25% at no extra cost to you, and makes a big difference to the charity.
Thank you so much for your donation!
