Story
St David’s Centre & Studio Tarw’s 160 mile Spin bike Challenge!
When we heard about Sight Life’s ‘Challenge 160’, we knew that we wanted to get involved.
The idea is simple: create a challenge that incorporates something ‘160’ to help this fabulous local charity celebrate their 160th anniversary and raise some money along the way.
We knew that wanted it to be something big that we could do in the middle of the St David’s Centre to raise as much awareness as possible about Sight Life’s amazing work.
The idea of a 160 mile spin bike challenge was quickly born and we reached out to our friends at the amazing Studio Tarw to help us make it possible.
So, they’re bringing their bikes; them, us and Sight Life are providing the manpower and we’d love you to provide the support!
We’ll be taking it in turns to cycle as fast as we can between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday 15th April to smash the 160 mile target before the time runs out.
We’d be very grateful for your support and any donations you can give will go directly to this fabulous charity. Thank you!
About Sight Life
43% of people with sight loss have significant depressive symptoms.
For the last 160 years, Sight Life's work has been making a meaningful impact in the lives of local blind and partially sighted people when they need us the most.
In our recent survey, 90% of our Service Users told us that they felt less isolated and lonely, 80% felt more independent and 74% were more active and healthier as a result of our work.
We want to keep supporting and evolving the services we offer for the next 160 years but we need your support!
Raising just £160 for Sight Life will allow us to visit a Service User at home to provide essential advice to ensure they can continue to live independently; provide a bespoke session on how to successfully manage living with sight loss and reduce the isolation it imposes; and also run a social group that can become a life-line to our Service Users and gives them a reason to leave home.
The money you raise matters. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
