Story

The Royal Air Force Rugby 7’s (The Spitfires) are taking on an 24 Hour Fitness Challenge to raise funds for the RAF Museum. As part of an EGM and training for the upcoming Singapore 7s Tournament the team will be using a Ski, Bike and Rowing Machine, trying to accumulate over 500,000m (500km, 310 miles) in 24 Hours.

The team are hoping to raise over £1,500 to enable the RAF Museum to continue to inspire everyone with the extraordinary stories of our Royal Air Force. The Royal Air Force Museum is a registered charity and has opportunities for learning, and inspiring the next generation, in every corner of their sites in London and the Midlands. No donation is too small to make a difference and all the support will help the team beat their target distance.

The Spitfire’s have been supporting the RAF Museum and fundraising for the last 4 years. We have undertaken some amazing challenges. In 2020 we completed an Ultra Marathon that took us past the Battle of Britian memorial in London and finished at the RAF Museum London. In 2021, as part of the Lancaster Challenge, we cycled and ran for 24 hours straight around the Derwent Reservoir! We supported the Dambusters Cycle Ride in 2023 and a member of the team completed the journey with the RAF Museum Trustees and CEO that started at Lady Bower and ended at the RAF Museum in London.

The Spitfires have raised £5000 for the Museum already and we look to increase that number with our next challenge!
