Story
The Albion Foundation provides Educational and sporting chances to a variety of people within the Sandwell Community. They offer support and empowering opportunities across the local area.
Examples of the work they do include: A memories Group for those individuals with Dementia and Alzheimer's; disability sports sessions: Educational learning and skills; and the Hawthorns Hub. The latter welcomes and encourages anyone to pop in for a chat and to see a friendly face once a week, which was set up to help combat loneliness and Isolation.
I believe they make a measurable difference to local people of all ages, gender, ethnicity, and economic and social backgrounds
So to help raise funds for the Albion Foundation I'll be visiting the breath-taking sandstone city of Petra to help raise funds for the foundation.
I'll be embarking on a five-day trek along the spectacular Jordan Trail, while raising important funds for the charity and experiencing the UNESCO World Heritage Site in all its grandeur.
From 5th October 2024, to 12th October 2024, challengers will trek over 72km through the exhilarating but rugged and tough landscapes of Jordan, camping along the way.
After pushing themselves to the limit and travelling through deep canyons and gorges, the challengers will reach the astonishing ancient Nabatean city of Petra and witness its remarkable beauty.
Jonathan Ward, Head of Partnerships, Events & Communications at The Albion Foundation, said: "After the great success of the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu challenges, we're delighted to continue our partnership with Charity Challenge with our Trek to Petra.
"We're inviting supporters to experience the once in a lifetime opportunity with us, while raising crucial funds for The Albion Foundation."
