Santa Dash 2023
### Please leave your email address so I can send you a personal thank you note ###
My eldest daughter Evie is a normal happy, healthy 17 year old, but in the winter of 2008 she became ill. We noticed she had a rash and was feeling sick. We took her to the local NHS walk-in centre in Wavertree. Not really thinking too much of it, we presumed it was measles or something similar. However, after a thorough check-up by the vigilant NHS staff, they sent us straight up to Alder Hey.
The doctors immediately began treating her for Meningococcal Septicaemia (Meningitis). She remained seriously ill for four days but, thankfully, made a full recovery and was discharged just in time for Christmas. This was the best present we ever had. If it wasn't for those expert NHS staff, I'm not sure she would have made it. I’ve ran the Santa Dash every year since then raising over 8k for Alder Hey. A small measure of my undying support for the amazing work that goes on there, and also as thanks to the staff that gave me my daughter back.
This year Evie and I will be joined by Heather and her friend Jess. We will share a few pics and capture the event on Strava. Thanks for taking the time to read.
All the best to you and yours!
