Providing Pediatric Dialysis Services · 20 March 2023

Bridge of Life (BOL) is partnering with Fundainer, BOLs pediatric dialysis partner, and Habitat for Humanity Guatemala to create a safe treatment solution for the administration of home-based peritoneal-dialysis (PD) for children.

Story

Please support my volunteer efforts to build home dialysis rooms for children in Guatemala, putting them on the path to transplant!

Bridge of Life (BOL) is partnering with FUNDANIER, BOLs pediatric dialysis partner, to provide a safe treatment solution for the administration of home-based peritoneal-dialysis (PD) for children with chronic renal disease. Measures of success are how many children we can get off the PD waitlist and how many children can become eligible for transplantation.

In Guatemala, families living in remote areas have difficulties accessing health care services due to a lack of transportation to facilities and resources. BOL and FUNDAINER are hoping to resolve near and long term needs by bringing dialysis services closer to these communities, and getting these patients eligible for transplant.
